Meet the Whitridge Technology Recruiting Team

1. What is your background and how did that lead you to joining the Whitridge Team? 
 
I grew up in Upstate NY and earned my BS in Business Administration from SUNY Polytechnic Institute. I then worked as a Territory Manager/Sales Engineer for a sealing products company in Syracuse. When I decided to move to the Boston area, I started talking with Whitridge about Sales & Recruiting roles. I loved the sound of the staffing and recruiting industry and the core values of the company aligned with my own, so I thought it would be a great fit. I’ve never looked back!   
 
2. What do you love most about the staffing industry? 
 
I love that I can truly make a difference in people’s lives and help to shape their careers. I also love that I have an opportunity to meet a multitude of new people every day, while catching up with others that I have established strong relationships with over the years.   
 
3. To follow that question, what do you think are the biggest challenges in Technology Staffing?
 
The biggest challenge we face in technology staffing is supply versus demand!  There are simply not enough qualified, available candidates to fill the demand in the technology field. Our technology recruiting team works very hard to build new relationships every day. We also have an exceptional community of consultants who refer good people to us all the time. It still takes a considerable amount of effort daily to try to keep up with the demand.   
 
4. What piece of advice would you give to a young Technical Recruiter, just trying to break into the industry?
 
Be patient, have fun and be diligent about following up with the candidates and clients you speak with. There are a lot of challenges in the staffing industry and there is a lot to learn about the roles you are working on and the people who best fit those roles. Just remember that it is the people you work with that make you successful. Always do the right thing by them and try to have fun along the way as you build those relationships. You will find that technology recruiting is a very rewarding career, despite the challenges you face early on.  
 
5. What do you like best about working at Whitridge? 
 
Whitridge, as a company, has never wavered in our core values of integrity, reliability and results. Simply put…we do things the right way, always! The people who work here believe in what we do and how we do it. It’s important to them and that’s important to me. 
 
6. Tell us something interesting or funny about yourself that we might not know, “no judgement zone”! 
 
I may partake in a bit of karaoke from time to time. Ok…so maybe, just maybe I hog the mic whenever there is karaoke around! I’ve always liked to sing. This year I’ve decided I’m going to learn to play guitar as well. Hopefully I’ll have the patience to stick with it! Regardless…I will not be playing at the Whitridge holiday party.
 
7. What is the last book you read or podcast you listened to? Favorite of all time? 
 
Someone here in the office turned me on to the Up and Vanished podcast and I am OBSESSED with it! They recently came out with new episodes that I’m currently listening to.  I also really enjoy the ‘How I Built This’ podcast series on NPR.  
 
8. Describe your job in three words. 
 
Fun, challenging, fulfilling.
