In our latest installment of “Meet Your Whitridge IT Recruiter,” we’re talking to Lindsey Meredith, an IT Staffing Specialist in our Quincy office. Lindsey is an avid outdoors person, a smart recruiter, and a great addition to our team!

1.    What is your background both educationally and professionally? And how did that lead you to recruiting? 

I graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Globalization Studies and Spanish from Gettysburg College. I wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted to do, bouncing between three different states with a few different job titles. But when moving back from Colorado, I was drawn to roles that were both rewarding and challenging. I found a symmetry in tech recruiting, the more work you put in the more there is to gain. 

2.    What is the best thing about IT recruiting and what do you think are the biggest challenges? 

I find the best aspect of IT recruiting to be the human connection. In a world technologically advancing at such a high-speed rate, capable of rendering a product obsolete upon purchase, it is reassuring to know certain services still require the human factor. The biggest challenge, oddly, would have to be the low unemployment rate. Positions come out daily but the candidate pool is small and most quality IT candidates do not stay on the market for very long.

3.    When you’re not at work what is your favorite thing to do? 

When I’m not working I typically like to be outside as much as possible whether it’s hiking, running, skiing, snowshoeing, paddle boarding, etc. 

4.    Tell us one interesting (or odd – no judgement here) fact about yourself? 

Just after being born, my family moved to Puerto Escondido, Mexico so my father could pursue his passion for big wave surfing. We stayed for four years before returning to the States but continued to visit year after year.

5.    What do you love about Whitridge? 

I really enjoy the inclusive, family environment here at Whitridge. Everyone is friendly and more than willing to help if you have a question or need guidance.
