Ranked: Best Accredited Online Programs of 2020

By: Srividya Kalyanaraman

It’s not only a new year, but a whole new decade. You know that means, it’s time to embark on lofty goals, get all the backburner resolutions to the frontline and learn some new skills.

A software programmer? A nurse? An engineer? Whether you’re launching a career or looking for a change, the internet houses all of the knowledge you need. According to some estimates, the global e-learning market will soar to $325 billion by 2025.

It should come as no surprise then that online courses provided by companies like Coursera and Udacity have attracted corporate attention and companies including Google and Amazon host courses on these platforms. But universities are catching up, too.

In its latest report, U.S. News & World Report announced the 2020 best online programs rankings.

Rush University in Illinois is the top school for its nursing programs. Among online MBAs, Indiana University—Bloomington and the University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill tied for the number one position.  The University of California—Los Angeles tied with Columbia University in New York for the top spot among masters-level engineering programs.
