Redox lands $1 million from Intermountain to refine interoperability tech
By: Bernie Monegain

Redox, launched by three Epic System engineers in 2013, has received a $1 million add-on investment from the Intermountain Healthcare Innovation Fund, the commercialization arm of the Salt Lake City-based healthcare system.

It brings the total Redox raised from its Series B funding to $10 million. It also brings Redox know-how to bear at Intermountain.

The investment will be put to work on further developing and marketing its API interoperability platform used by software developers and healthcare organizations.

The Intermountain Healthcare Innovation Fund is managed by Healthbox and affiliated with Intermountain Healthcare.

Intermountain recognized the need for a modern application interoperability platform when it invited Redox to take part in its 2015 Healthbox Studio program. Since then, Redox has connected digital health applications to nearly 100 health systems across the country who work with more than 30 unique electronic health record vendors.

"Redox is quickly becoming a standard in application interoperability," Vivek Reddy, chief health information officer at Intermountain Healthcare, said in a statement. “Their platform has evolved into the largest network of enterprise healthcare applications with the ability to scale innovations across large health systems like ours."
